Topic: Which editor is that?

Hi everybody,
excuse me for totally dumb beginner question,
- which editor they use in the official rails video tutorials here: http://www.rubyonrails.org/screencasts ?

Do I have it in Ubuntu?

Re: Which editor is that?

It's TextMate, http://macromates.com/

Unfortunately it's Mac only at the moment, but maybe someone will be able to suggest an alternative for Ubuntu...

Re: Which editor is that?

If you want a full IDE, try RadRails.
Otherwise, people have written lots of plug-ins for major text editors (such as JEdit) to mimic the functionalities of TextMate.

(Sorry I'm too lazy to search for the links, just google it yourself, they should be quite easy to find.)

Re: Which editor is that?

Thanks alot!

Re: Which editor is that?

All of this information is in the Tools category, but a good substitute for TextMate on Windows is E-Text Editor.  You can even use the same color schemes as TextMate uses (mostly).

Re: Which editor is that?

I personally like netbeans ruby edition.

Re: Which editor is that?

I use NetBeans 6 on Ubuntu too. Today I saw a post about Geany but haven't tried it yet.
