Topic: sending parameters via POST

I think there is probably a simple answer to this but I can;t figure it out...

Its it possible to send parameters in  redirect_to via the POST instead of GET???  Should I use some other method besides redirect_to???  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Re: sending parameters via POST

Unfortunately, no. Rails does a 302 HTTP redirect which doesn't allow POST. One way this is handled is by calling render directly instead of redirecting. This will render another template. For example:

def create
  #...
  render :action => 'new'
end

An alternative is to add the POST parameters to the session[] hash. This is persistent across requests so you can access them in the next request.
