Topic: Something you may all find useful
We embed a bunch of different media into our new app and dealing with all the different API's is a pain in the ass and can get messy. So I created a web service that supports a wide range of different services (Vimeo, myspace, twiiter, amazon etc). All you have to do is query the service and it gives you back information such as title, html, format and url.
You can find it over at http://embedit.me/
I've created a Ruby wrapper available over at http://github.com/reddavis/embedit_ruby/tree/master .
Unfortunately there seems to be a bug with github that won't keep my 'rubygem' box ticked (I'm still waiting to hear from Github) but you can just download the code and either create the gem locally or simple place the embedit_ruby.rb file into you lib folder and then require it.
