Topic: Is sqlite3 good enough?

I am very new to ruby on rails and I tried to use it with mysql. But after hours of trial and error, I just got pissed off.

Is sqlite3 good enough for running a website Reddit?
I doubt it, but when is it adaquate to use sqlite3?

Re: Is sqlite3 good enough?

I think that sqlite3 is great for development. Go ahead and use it while you develop your first (or first couple) sites.

Using the "Sqlite Database Browser" is an easy (spreadsheet like) way to see what your app has changed.

One word of advice, don't make changes to the tables or data via the database UI (as in the browser) make sure you have the Rails application do the changes needed in the database.
