Topic: started learning rails from the scratch

Dear all,

i started programming from the scratch. i know only rails.
now i m comfortable with doing things with rails.
but still i don  code faster and my code seems that is not a optimized one.
these things hurts me.
how can i improve and avoid these things in my side.
kindly provide me some suggestions and ideas to improve me in rails

practice, practice, practice

(and study other people's code, e.g. the Rails code itself, and plugins and gems)

^ functional testing is for the testing of controllers. The Agile Web Development with Rails book mentions above offers a great introduction to this. What part are you struggling with? Give us some details and we'll help guide you.
