Topic: Nginx+thin gzip compression doesn't work

Hi everybody!
I'm using nginx+thin on my VPS (CentOS 5.5) to run rails app. I want to enable gzip. Here's my section of nginx.conf file where I'm enabling compression. I'm using google page speed and YSlow firefox addons to see if my content gzipped. Both addons shows that it's not gzipped. I've deleted all my browser cache several times, restart both nginx and thin - nothing help - content isn't gzipped. Please, help me to fix this issue. Thanks in advance.

  # output compression saves bandwidth
  gzip  on;
  gzip_http_version 1.1;
  gzip_vary on;
  gzip_comp_level 6;
  gzip_proxied any;
  gzip_types text/plain text/html text/css application/json
        application/x-javascript text/xml application/xml
        application/xml+rss text/javascript;

  # make sure gzip does not lose large gzipped js or css files
  gzip_buffers 16 8k;

  # Disable gzip for certain browsers.
  gzip_disable .MSIE [1-6].(?!.*SV1).;

No any errors in error.log file.
