Topic: Programming a chat in RoR

Hi there. I have to implement a chat in ROR and did a little research on it.
What I found is that I need to implement a push technology such as a comet. I was suprized to see that there are no available rails solution for implementing a descent chat.

Anyone has a solution/tutorial for implementing a chat in a ROR website ?

That's a tough act to follow
ryanb recently did a railscast about faye which is a ruby (or nodejs) push solution.  I played around with it.  It has some quirks but it worked great for me in the end.

and if you're into node.js at all, this project is pretty cool.  I was able to build a push app with it in like 5 mins.

Take a look on canhaschat plugin and modify it

It work like a charm for me, you can test it live on many gateway like msn, gtalk, icq....
