Topic: recurrent job

Hello there,
I'm in the early stage of designing a new application that I like to be as modular as possible.
I need to import periodically from a legacy DB to a MySQL one some data and for that I want to create a specific module.
I think I don't need a full Rails app (I don't plan to have a UI) for that but I'm not sure which options I have beside Rails.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Re: recurrent job

If you look at Resque (a queue framework which has plugins to do things at scheduled times) you don't need Rails at all. You can still pull in things like ActiveRecord if you need to, or just go direct to he MySQL gem and write some good old SQL queries.
