Re: Post your Rails site/app here

I'm working on a port of CompInaBox http://compinabox.sf.net, my software that runs registration and result tracking for a large portion of the collegiate competitive ballroom dance circuit.  its currently in PHP, but I was planning a complete rewrite this summer anyways... Had started about a month before, still using PHP, but caught up in about a week with RoR..... even with no experience in Ruby nor Rails.

My RoR journey  -- thoughts on learning RoR and lessons learned in applying TDD and agile practices.

A little site I've been running for about a year for DC.  It was originally a PHP app but I've now redone it completely in rails.. most of the questions I ask here will likely be related to this..

cheers!

Thanks Vin. Where abouts are they? They may find some of the trends interesting if selling or thinking of selling.

They're in Falmouth and Vineyard Haven/Oak Bluffs. I don't think anyone's looking to sell but someone is looking to buy... smile

Re: Post your Rails site/app here

Wow, what a small world. I'm in Falmouth. That is great they are lookign for a house, well definetly give them the link as I think they will benefit from the service. Right now is a buyers market around here. The inventory of houses just hit a plateau, and it seems slower than normal.

Thanks,
Chris-

Re: Post your Rails site/app here

URL: http://www.saidsecrets.com
Purpose: a bit of an experiment where people can quickly and easily take and make polls. No registration, completely anonymous. The anonymous factor is hopefully encouraging people to ask unusual/interesting questions.

I'm in the process of making it so you can comment on polls, that should increase the site's interesting factor a bit.

developer: me! smile this was my simple way to introduce myself to rails.

Re: Post your Rails site/app here

URL: http://helpmebuyacar.org
Purpose: Helping me buy a car, and developing a small system so it works like a blog and some features to sponsor donators.

It's actually a pretty cool gimmick. If anyone would like a link or graphic to the site all I ask is a link back, but you could do it the "gimmick" way and donate and I'll sponsor you smile

Developer: me!

Developer: Me, but anyone interested in helping is welcome... especially designers.
