Topic: How to access a javascript variable from ruby

I read the post about accessing a global in javascript, but how do I do the opposite.
I have a variable inside of javascript and I want to access it outside.

I can do a document.write(myvar) and of course it works, but how can I get its value outside of my javascript. Either returning it or setting its value to a global variable would be fine.

Re: How to access a javascript variable from ruby

I am trying to find the answer for the same problem. I want to get javascript variable and store it into ruby variable. Please can you let me know if you found a solution.

Hi

I didn't do it, I just found a different solution where I did not need to do it. This was a while ago, but I think I read some stuff stating it was not possible.

well Just FYI. I updated created a cookie in javascript and used rails cookies["cookie_name"] to get the value. It works well.
