Topic: Question

Hi all.

A question for anyone in the know about social/community systems.

We are looking for a Rails "community" package similar to the Drupal Commons package developed by Acquia.

Does anyone know of anything like this out there? If you aren't familiar with it you can see it here:
http://www.acquia.com/products-services … 20redirect

We've looked at a couple Rails packages:

http://communityengine.org/
http://lovdbyless.com/

but they don't seem to be as robust as Drupal Commons.

We are considering building our own, but if anyone knows of a package out there we are missing, I'd love feedback.

Thanks.

Re: Question

None that I know of really, about time someone wrote something like that in Rails - Of course you could always look at 37signals  stuff to see what they have open sourced.

Re: Question

Thanks!

I agree, something like this wold be really good to have.

We looked at 37signals, but it's still pretty limited.  No groups and no LDAP integration are the two big issues.  But thanks for the suggestion!

It's looking more and more like we are going to write this on our own.
