Topic: error on 'bundle install'

Hi all!! I use ubuntu 10 maverick, and when I try to create a application with rails, the process blocks in "run bundle install".

This is the output:

      create README.rdoc
      create Rakefile
      create .gitignore
      create Gemfile
      create app
      create app/assets/images/rails.png
      create app/assets/javascripts/application.js
      create app/assets/stylesheets/application.css

And when I type CTRL-C, the output is this:

$ /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.22/lib/bundler/vendor/thor/shell/basic.rb:63:in `flush': Broken pipe (Errno::EPIPE)

  from /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/bundler-1.0.22/bin/bundle:19

What's the problem??

Thank you very much!!!

Re: error on 'bundle install'

Sometimes it happens when you are behind a proxy or a firewall that blocks the gems to be downloaded. So check if the port 22 is not blocked or if you manage just to install a gem by a standard way

gem install [gem_name]

Re: error on 'bundle install'

Hi Javix!!! Thanks for your help. I have turned to develop Ruby Web applications on Windows. Now the "run bundle install" is not blocked anymore, but it is downloading something from internet, and  I can't create an application without internet connection.

How can I create applications without internet connection??

Thank you very much

Re: error on 'bundle install'

you can run it with --skip-bundle option:

rails new myapp --skip-bundle
