Topic: Agile Web Development - Help on OSX

I am looking for some help on page 54 if anyone is familiar.

I have CocoaMySQL but the book doesn't say where I need to save the databases.  So I went ahead and created the databases on the command line, but then I try to find them in CocoaMySQL and I don't know where they are saved.

Cheers for any help.

Re: Agile Web Development - Help on OSX

MySQL automatically handles saving the database, so you don't need to keep track of where it is. You just need to create it. Upon launching CocoaMySQL it will ask you for the host (set to localhost), username, password and the name of the database to connect to.

Instead of localhost, try 127.0.0.1

Re: Agile Web Development - Help on OSX

Yeah I got it to work in the end, no doubt I will have more questions, but I am so excited about learning Rails.  I'm a designer by trade, xhtml, css, but I want to lern more development, and I already know a little about SQL and Rails.  I'm also influenced by the 37 Signals way of doing things.
