Topic: Help me figure this out :(

Alright, take a look at the header at http://abigfisch.com - How the hell do I get it to display properly with the background?

Re: Help me figure this out :(

Cant see any possible way via CSS. I tried but it will still break.

#logo {
    background: url(http://abigfisch.com/images/header_logo.gif) no-repeat -22px -2px;
    padding-bottom: 134px;
    margin-left: 18%;
}

I'd output the fish with shadow as a png file without the diagonals and apply an alpha filter hack for ie or export the fish and shadow as a gif with matte closest to the nearest black or gray.

I'd go for the png option first.

How would I do that alpha filter hack for ie?

Re: Help me figure this out :(

Since it's really just IE 5-6 with issues I would recommend wrapping it like this inside your head tags. The id is #logo and just apply the .fish class to the png file.

<img src="../images/fish.png" class=".fish" />

<!--[if gte IE 5.5]>
<![if lt IE 7]>
<style type="text/css">
#logo .fish { filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=0); }
#logo .fish { filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(src='fish.png'); }
</style>
<![endif]>
<![endif]-->

The header is still weird, even with the png option. The background lines doesn't scale properly when the browser window size changes. Any remedy for this?

edit: nvm figured it out - thanks!
