Topic: Flash on Rails using XML -- your thoughts?

So I'm getting ready to do my first app. I want to make a simple Flash gallery much like this: http://battleequip.com/wrx/

I plan to use Rails to handle uploading images, text, log-in, generating thumbnails and XML. Flash will load the XML document and render the images and text.

I did a search before and stumbled on a few posts citing webOrb and Flash Remoting. This is a bit too complicated I think, I'd like to stick w/ the XML file.

Anyway, I'm fairly confident in setting up the admin system, however I'm not too sure how to output an XML document from all the data. How does this general idea sound? Stumbling blocks?

I work with xml and flash all day long, literally. I just generate a builder template and then use the respond to block to handle xml calls. The you just have to add .xml to the end of any rails path.

Thanks. From what I've read its really quite simple I still need to learn it though.

Do you think Flash will behave alright with this setup?

I can't see any problems.
