Topic: -bash rails: command not found

I installed rails correctly using gem install rails ...etc

By I keep getting -bash rails: command not found when I try to launch rails myapp

Any ideas?

make sure you have changed the directory to the place where you have installed all of the rails/ruby etc then run your rails script

so do cd /usr/local/directory/

then do your rails command it should work. I had that problem when I 1st installed, didnt realise I had to run my scripts in proper directory.

It worked.

I updated my $PATH in .bash_profile and added the correct directory link to rails which is now

/var/lib/gems/1.8/bin

Whoohoo, it only took me 3 hours to figure that out.
