Topic: Simple string conversion question

Hi,

I have created the following function which simply generates a more user friendly title from a page name. It replaces all underscores with an empty space and also converts some specific letter combinations into umlauts (German special characters).

This is totally something that should be brought to the Rails Core team's attention.  They've done an excellent job with their multi-byte character support and they'll want to tackle this right away.

Opening a ticket on dev.rubyonrails.org would be the best way to go.

Are you serious? I'm far from being a professional programmer... I'm sure I made some stupid rookie mistake here and that's why it's not working... :-(
