Topic: is ruby on rails javascript friendly?

seems with the default prototype and scriptaculous and CSS,  ruby on rails can build sort of fancy web user interface. my question is if Ruby on Rails is friendly to other JS framework?  or it's not recommended using other JS?

Re: is ruby on rails javascript friendly?

There is a plugin called something like JQuery on Rails, or Dojo on Rails. These are plugins that make sure that the javascript helpers in rails are converted to JQuery or Dojo. You can also include them anyway and just use them, however.. you need to do some extra things if you want to use JQuery and Prototype together. Since they both use the $ sign as a shortcut to their top level javascript function.

You can use any javascript you want with Rails, and if you write it unobtrusively like you should then it is really really easy.
