Topic: Special character encoding (æøå) in urls

Hi guys,

I'm doing a very simple app that imports a .csv, and then creates a url based on the information in that.

Example.

I want the following URL (www.test.com?name=Søren) to become this:

www.test.com?name=S%F8ren

I've tried to encode the name using URI.escape(

Re: Special character encoding (æøå) in urls

ehm is it possible to do this??:

<%=link to 'hello',  html_save(www.test.com?name=S%F8ren) %>

Re: Special character encoding (æøå) in urls

Arg! Seems like my original post went wrong..

What i'm trying to archive is to create a url, which will be called from Net::HTTP.get(URI.parse(url))

A lot of names in my country have characters like æ ø å..

If I do a URI.escape, I get ø = "%C3%B8"

But I want it as percent encoding, where ø = %F8.

Any ideas on how to archive that? smile
