Re: pulling hair(or whats left!), this code stopped working on production

post got cut off...

There is no error message and the data is not being saved (using acts as permissible). The only difference between my local machine and production machine is that my local machine has

ruby 1.8.7 (2009-06-12 patchlevel 174) [i686-darwin10.2.0]

and my production server has

ruby 1.8.7 (2008-06-20 patchlevel 22) [x86_64-linux]

thanks for any help!

could that be the problem?

Re: pulling hair(or whats left!), this code stopped working on production

not likely

Re: pulling hair(or whats left!), this code stopped working on production

One of the 'invisible' common differences in production and development is the caching behaviour, try to disable the cache classes in the config/environtment/production.rb.

If that works for you, than there will probably another problem you need to solve. Disabling this configuration option won't solve your real problem but It will show where you need to search to solve this issue.
