Topic: What is the Rails Guides website built with?

Hi,
I like the design and the way that the Rails Guides work (http://guides.rubyonrails.org/). I remember that I saw another website somewhere (I don't remember where now) that looked and worked exactly the same, so is the Rails Guides built with software that are available for others to use? Does anyone know where I can find that?

Re: What is the Rails Guides website built with?

Now I found the other site that is the same as the Rails Guides, it's at the RefineryCMS guides: http://refinerycms.com/guides/getting-s … h-refinery

There I see a link to edit the guides at Github, and it links to an .textile file, could it be just a Textile frontend?

Are there still no one who knows anything about this?

If it's look and feel that your talking about then the backend is irrelevant, learn some HTML + CSS + Javascript and you can build something like the rails guides site.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I understand that it is possible to build something similar myself, but since more than one website use it I assumed they used something that was available for use. No need for everyone to reinvent the wheel you know wink

Re: What is the Rails Guides website built with?

Well doing it yourself is a good way to learn. But you could always get the CSS and HTML from those sites and look how they did it.

Re: What is the Rails Guides website built with?

It's generated from {GEM_HOME}/gems/railties-3.0.0/guides
