Topic: Which RoR version comes with Mac OS X Leopard?

Does anyone knows something about this? What would be the preferred way to update a RoR installation on Mac OS X Leopard? gem update, or Apple's software update?

Re: Which RoR version comes with Mac OS X Leopard?

I'm sure gem update. I doubt it will be included in Apple software update. But we don't really know until it's released.

I'm wondering how/if this is going to affect my current MacPorts-based install of Rails. I'm just hoping I can switch over to Apple's included version easily. neutral

I read somewhere that RoR will be preinstalled in Leopard.

i heard that somewhere too.

Re: Which RoR version comes with Mac OS X Leopard?

yes, it is on the specs list, rails is in it...

when the dev seed was released it included Ruby 1.8.4 and Rails 1.1.2, but it should be updated in the behind the scenes version by now...

I recall they expected it to be coupled with Rails 1.2.x along with Mongrel as well as a ton of other toys in the final release of osx 10.5
