Topic: How can I serve ruby and php on same apache machine?

Hi all,

How can I serve both ruby and php apps on the same server?

I have been able to use passenger with apache, and all was good. Unfortunately, the php apps cannot be served at the same time. Any useful tutorials to get me there?

Simon.

The best practice will be maintain Rails app on primary domain and create a subdomain for PHP scripts.

Im not sure i understand. You should be able to run PHP and Rails apps simultaneously on a server with apache and passenger. Atleast im not having any issues. If you mean running PHP inside a rails app then i one solution is placing your php code in the public dir and creating a .htaccess file with "PassengerEnabled off" or you can create a <Directory> inside your vhost with the option in it.
