Topic: creating new rails project error

-- can anyone tell me what the warning 'Insecure world writable dir /usr/local in PATH, mode 040777' is about, do i need to run repair on the permissions..

I think you are getting that error because the directory permissions are set to 777. I think you can ignore it if you are working on your own local machine. If it's set up as a webserver, then chmod the directory (e.g., to 750 or 700).
