Topic: redirects, SEO, HTTP Headers, and Google Analytics

How can I do an auto redirect_to to another site, and retain the HTTP header information of my site?  Users may come to our site through a bit.ly link on Twitter, and we sometimes will automatically redirect them to another site.  However, the HTTP Header info is not present, so Google Analytics doesn't register the user as coming from our site.

Is there a way to force the HTTP header info so our site is carried as the referrer?

I think this is similar to pop ups! you are forcing some traffic to your site. Not a good way if you want an organic result for your site. It's better that you work on building backlinks rather than forcing a browser to open your site.
