Re: Forum Thoughts

I also think that the new FRoRum is a good solution. Would be nice if it can replace some forums which are written in PHP (like railsforum here).

Re: Forum Thoughts

We're just completed a new look for Invision forums, tab categories etc. If anyone is interested can post up a link.

The subscription thing is quite frankly a pain in the bum in all forum products, it either sends an email for every new post in a thread, or decides not to send one at all. Really wish someone would sort that out.

One of the current gripes l have with both invision and vBulletin is the share overwhelming size of the things. Would be cool if a forum product came in a base mode, with the ability to snap in additional functionality as required, e.g a PM system wouldn't be standard, but you could install if required later. Must be hell on earth for a newbie trying to sort out all the options to be honest.

www.movieheretic.com - Reviews, Box Office, Chat from downunder. Now with added RoR goodness, beginner stuff.

www.skinbydragonfly.com - Invision skins, graphics, i-Tab revolution.

Re: Forum Thoughts

I've been looking at Beast this afternoon.  It's pretty impressive.  MIT licensed too, so we can all see what makes it tick. smile
