Topic: 500 error :: newbie

Hi,

I have ruby and rails installed, going through ON Lamp's ROR tuturial.

As part of the tut, models and controllers are created through the script/generate command, then actions are in place so the student gets an idea of how things work all without an associated database.

However when i create my database and try using script/generate the models and classes are not created.

I wrote them myself, saved the file but when i try to  view the page i get a 500 internal server error.

Using a powerpc mac running os x.4.

thank you for any help

What exactly do you mean by that?

BrewControl.com - Brewery and Brewpub management powered by RoR

Re: 500 error :: newbie

Well noramlly

ruby script/generate model my_test_model

would create a file

\mytestapp\apps\models\my_test_model.rb

if i do not have a database configured, the files are created

once the database is created, the script/generate command does nothing

i believe i might have database connections issues.

perhaps a fresh install of mysql and rails.

Re: 500 error :: newbie

Run the ruby script/generate command from the rails application directory.

thanks,
