Topic: Freezing rails and local development

I have read that freezing Rails is the way to go if you are deploying on a shared server, such as Textdrive/Joyent.  I have successfully frozen rails and it created the rails directory in the vendor directory.

Now when I go to run "ruby script/server" on my local development machine, when it goes to load Rails after Mongrel, it Exits.

Am I missing something or is there a place where I can look to see what's happening?

Does it give you any kind of error message when it exits?

Re: Freezing rails and local development

Nope.  No error.

This is what loads:

=> Booting Mongrel (use 'script/server webrick' to force WEBrick)
=> Rails application starting on http://0.0.0.0:3000
=> Call with -d to detach
=> Ctrl-C to shutdown server
** Starting Mongrel listening at 0.0.0.0:3000
** Starting Rails with development environment...
Exiting

(It pauses a little before exiting.)

I tried to start the server for other Rails apps on the same machine and they work.
