Topic: accessing helpers methods from the controller

I know this does not respect the MVC, but I'm writing a controller methods inside a library and I want to do it without a view to be needed. I bit like how in_place_edit_for is built. it generates the view part using render :text => ''

but in this call I want to use an helper method, which is not available from the controller, I tried using helper.method but helper is undefined.

anyone would know how to do this?

Re: accessing helpers methods from the controller

All the helper files that rails generates are modules so in your controller, at the top, you can:

include TestHelper

and then when you want to call it:

helper_method()

Or, like any helper method, if there is a name conflict:

TestHelper::helper_method()

If you've ever used the ActionView TextHelper, you've probably seen something like this before.

Hope that helps,
