Topic: What editors do you use for Rails development?

For the Mac, I use Textmate for pretty much everything. But I wondered what my Windoze and Linux counterparts used.

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

I use eclipse for Java development at work so Rad Rails is a no brainer for me.

On Windows I use Dreamweaver with the RubyWeaver extension.

Crimson Editor - A little old, but still a great app. I like that it has a lot of features, but if I don't want to use them, I can easily make them all go away and not have to look at them.

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

I use RadRails. Before I used jEdit with a ruby extension.

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

In my time of developing in Ruby I haven't found an editor I like more than Textmate. Luckily I have a Macbook and am able to code pretty much everywhere with it. If I am without my Macbook, which does, on occasion, happen, I tend to use RadRails for both Linux & Windows. If I'm doing a quick update I'll usually load up vim and take care of it that way.

Most code examples are usually pulled out of the air and not tested. Use at your own risk!

I've been using Ride-Me and Notepad. Gonna give RubyWeaver a try now.

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

I use RadRails at work and Komodo at home (oh, to afford the pro licence!)

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

I use extended Dreamweaver as well so I only need one tool whether I'm doing a straight HTML site, hacking a PHP noddy or doing some "real work" in Rails.  I will try RadRails at some point.

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

I use Eclipse: you can hook in your scripts, breakpointer, DB, Subversion, etc. pretty effortlessly.  Plus I grew up on Java so it's dual-purpose.

Vote for Radrails.

VIM, because I don't have the energy to learn emacs yet.

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

I'm all over Quanta (Kate) on Linux.  It's solid, lightweight, and easy to switch between different languages and coding styles.  It's not perfect, but there's no open-source Textmate yet :-(

Re: What editors do you use for Rails development?

Textmate on a Mac, jEdit on Windows.

I used jEdit for Java/JSP stuff before I started using Rails so I just stuck with it until I got a Mac.

Are there any UML modelers out there for RoR?

I think most Rails/agile developers eschew UML.

Wow I didn't know. What's the reasoning behind this?
