Topic: Raw Newbie Question

I'm an experienced embedded developer but am totally new to web programming.

I'll probably have a red face for a year for asking this question, but here goes.

If I create a web page with Rails, does the web client have to be Ruby-capable, or does the server dispense HTML to the client? Is the downloaded web page HTML, Ruby, or something else?

Re: Raw Newbie Question

No - their is no client side requirements (other than a webserver). You can use any web browser. Your Rails application only returns data* to the browser which will then render it as appropriate.
