Topic: dual processors

This question might have already been asked ... but here goes anyway:

Do current verions of rails fully utilize dual processors when present? Do they also utilize dual cores?

Thanks,

Re: dual processors

Is there any way to more fully utilize hardware when deploying a rails application?  Perhaps running more than one instance on a given machine?

Thanks,
Snowdall

DFischer: I DISAGREE! tongue

snowdall: Have a look at mongrel + apache. Apache sits out front and directs requests while Mongrel handles your rails app. Mongrel can have many instances running at once (clustering) and apache will distribute requests between each process. It does take a bit of effort to set up, but not too much and it will fully utilize your webserver.

Re: dual processors

Double points for checking out NGINX + mongrel_cluster.
