Topic: best solution for editing rails files on remote server with textmate

What do you guys do?

i have a rails server at the office, and do most of my editing from home.
So far i have been mounting the directory with sshfs then i can get to it with textmate,
but, because of the latency in network, i get a spinning beach ball a lot.

i could use ssh and vim, that is quick, but i really want to use textmate instead.

i do testing and development on webrick, then move it to apache when i like it.

So i would like something that i could do a quick edit and refresh my browser to see the change quickly.

any ideas ??
thanks

Since you have SSH access to your work server, I'd set up a subversion repository. You can then checkout a local copy of your code on your home computer to use with TextMate. When you're done working, you just have to commit your changes back to the server. Along with Capistrano you can even automate the deployment to your Apache setup.
