Topic: emacs ruby-mode problem

I've discovered a problem with the ruby-mode.el plugin in that it doesn't allow you to type a capital 'C' anywhere in your code.  It treats this as a Ctrl sequence.  Is there a way to fix this?

I'm using:
  emacs-22.1_2
  ruby-mode.el Rev: 12032

I've noticed if I change to Text-Mode I can enter a capital 'C' then change back, this is annoying and wastes time but it's a work around for now.  Still all the other features of this great plugin make up for this oversight.

Look in your .emacs file.  In my case it was the line
(define-key ruby-mode-map "C-m" 'newline-and-indent)

The C-m should be \C-m.(I think), at least when I changed it The Capital letter C worked again

I don't know why they even have that function in there as you can just use C-j to insert a newline and indent...  So I just deleted that line in the end.
