My website use caching. The first visit after deleting caching files in public/, alls seems okay. But when i revisit the site (cache is activited), all umlauts (german special chars) are damaged (

Are you using UTF-8 character encoding on your browser?

In firefox you do View -> Character Encoding -> UTF8

If caching is deactivated, my character encoding is UTF-8. But if i turn it on and get a chached page, it changes to ISO-8859-1 (when i switch it manually to UTF-8, all looks fine). How can i change it?

No, up to now caching is deactivated sad.

It's been a while since the last post.... but just in case:
make sure you have the correct encoding set in the declaration: i.e. put xml encoding and meta-equiv encoding in the header.
