Topic: Expiring page_caches at set time of day

I have a website which depends on closing stock prices each day to build some fairly computationally intensive pages. (www.assetcorrelation.com if you're interested). I currently clear the cache manually but would like to set the cache pages to expire at 7pm each day (Yahoo seems to update their closing prices around 5pm or so). For some reason I can't seem to figure out how to do this and have tried everything. Does anyone have any ideas or pointers to a good thread on this? It seems as though it should be fairly simple but I'm a bit of a noob.

Re: Expiring page_caches at set time of day

Also, as a follow up to this question: is it possible after the cache has been expired to automatically 'refresh' each cache page. I currently click through the pages manually since I like all three people who visit my website each day to have a good experience wink

Re: Expiring page_caches at set time of day

You could set up cron to fire a rake task to refresh your cache pages.

Interesting. I didn't know that 'rake' could refresh cache pages....I'll look into that. Thanks for the tip, cherring.
