Topic: First Rails Site

Just recently launched my first rails site on a 512 VPS on slicehost. http://www.fantasypostseason.com

I didn't know jack about Rails or Ruby when I started back in April/May - only know a little more now. But this testifies to the productivity that one can achieve with this framework.

I've used a lot of information on this forum -- it's my preferred place to search for rails stuff.

Re: First Rails Site

Glad we could be of help!  Hopefully you'll get to the point where you're comfortable enough with RoR to come back and lend a hand to others just starting out. smile

Re: First Rails Site

Yes -- definitely.  There are some tricky bits with rails that unless you've done it before it's hard to figure out on your own.

Congratulations, it's always a great feeling after your site goes Live, especially if it's the first one you've done. How are you running it? Mongrels or mod_rails?

Re: First Rails Site

I'm using mod_rails.  That seemed like the easiest way to get it up and running.

Re: First Rails Site

Yes, Congrats. Its always a good feeling when you get that first site deployed. When you get another done, don't be afraid to post it so we can check it out. smile

I'm working on a mashup right now myself I'll throw up on the boards when its done.
