Topic: New Ruby Projects Outpace PHP, Python, Perl

This is an old blog post I just came across: http://www.oreillynet.com/ruby/blog/200 … s_for.html

While PHP kicks Ruby's butt in terms of lines of code committed to opensource projects per year, new Ruby projects are on the rise, and blowing everything else out of the water.  And the LOC bit can be attributed to Ruby (and perhaps Rails) being more efficient.

Stats aren't perfect, and can be read in a number of ways, of course... but interesting nonetheless. smile

I'm gonna write my next project in COBOL and singlehandedly beat the LOC of all the new Rails projects combined tongue
