Topic: Avaliable gems

Where can I find a list of available gems? I'm thinking of e.g. mysql. Is there one for that?

Re: Avaliable gems

Yep, there's a mysql gem:

gem install mysql

And for getting a list of all gems (AFAIK):

gem search -r

Of course that list is crazy long, so better to supply a string:

gem search "sql" -r

Great. Can you find out about the version before you install it?

Re: Avaliable gems

The specification command might do the job. The rubygem docs has a lot of other good info too.
